Evening is falling when Minako is supposed to arrive, and Rei's got dinner in the fridge. She'd ordered sushi and a few other treats, all favorites of her friend, with a bit of spare money along with a nice selection of juice boxes, some sodas, and all the other essentials for a sleepover (marshmallows, candles, and other ways to pamper themselves...) And since the night is supposed to be warm, she's waiting outside, resting on the raised platform around the shrine, dangling her feet in the fading light while watching the torii arch and stairs for Minako's approach.]
many apologies for the delay! ;3;
At last, when the time came, the blonde packed up her things and headed to the shrine. Minako flew up the stairs and appeared in front of Rei with her usual bright smile.
"Rei-chaaaan! The fun has arrived!"
No worries! I just started my new job so busy!
"So it has," she mused, "I'm glad you could come Minako-chan."

The moment it started up, Minako was recalling the scenes and what she'd heard of the scary parts, which was already getting her worked up. She stuffed sushi in her mouth to keep herself busy, eyes glued to the screen.

But from time to time she looks over at Minako, just to make sure she's okay.

Dramatically, the blonde put her hand to her head, blocking her eyes from a rather scary scene that was happening on the television right at that second. Lucky! "Oooh, that might be a good idea, Rei-chan," she pouted, and then she stuffed another piece of sushi into her mouth.

"I...yes..." she murmurs, absentmindedly clicking off the screen with the remote. "I think I agree."

Off to work here shortly, but I'll be back tonight. Eeee, this is getting even more super cute.
hehe
"Y-You think so? Really, like Haruka-san... Michiru-san..." That was definitely close, and Minako's thoughts had been moving along the same path. She had been awfully flirtatious with Rei on Valentine's Day. Moreso than usual. And she'd been so happy to spend just a day alone with her, away from the others.
There were other times, too, times where it seemed that they were closer than the others. Minako had always wanted to be closer to Rei, to make her notice her. She even went to her school in an effort to learn more about her (as well as see what it was like to go to a private school). The more Minako thought about it, the less strange it sounded.
Gosh...
It was like a puzzle clicking together, and it left Rei feeling both afraid and warm. What...would come next, after all? Would this change things? Or...would they just push it aside?
"You...feel it too, don't you?" she asked, forcing confidence into her words. Things like this made her nervous, after all. As nervous as that kiss...

Minako had always thought that would be her fate, to be the lonely Goddess of Love. It was so tragic. But with Rei, she could still have a chance at a different kind of happiness, one that was deeper than friendship. And they would still perform their duties and live long lives together. Sure, it was a big step, and that was kind of scary. But Minako was already looking forward to it, to see if those memories led to anything.
She brought Rei's hand to her lips and kissed her knuckles, quickly but with affection, just testing the waters. "Did you wanna do something date-like?" Well, that sounded better in her head. Out loud, it sounded stupid. Minako had been trying to be cool!

The blonde's lips against her knuckles broke that train of thought, though. Completely derailed it, and her heart again began to pound like a runaway freight train.
"I...uh...yes?" It's nerves, Minako. She'd used up most of her guts just saying what she'd said. So maybe cut her some slack?

"I'm full of good ideas," she boasted, flipping her long locks over her shoulder. "Stick around, and you'll learn!"

Totally teasing you, now, Minako-chan.

She carefully moved the piece toward her friend's lips, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Open wide, Rei-chan."

"Like I said," she shrugged. "I got carried away. I was thinking too much." Which seemed like the complete opposite of passion, now that Minako thought about it. Passion was fueled by emotions, but Minako had been trying to uncover the past, which meant that she had been hyper-focused. She felt a little guilty for using that kiss to help her unlock more memories, but she was so curious.
